It doesn’t matter they type of learning environment you chose to get your degree from while in college, there are certain situations that all students will face. When students reach their college age, they are experimenting with their new freedom and finding out who they are and what they like to do. For many this involves an endless parade of parties. Some think that all they have to do is find the healthy balance between their school work and their partying, but their partying can actually take a toll on their body without them realizing it. This article will look at the increasingly alarming problem that is binge drinking. It is important that parent and students understand the implications that it can have on your education and on life.
First of all, it shouldn’t be a surprise that excessive drinking has a negative effect on a student’s grades. Parents are often surprised when their straight “a” student is suddenly getting far worse grades in school. I am in no way condoning underage drinking, but it is something that we should be honest about.

This memory loss can cause you to forget things that you may have learned in classes or in your studying. Even more alarming, is that this memory loss and black out behavior can cause you to forget about things that you do when you are actually drinking. This then puts you in physical harm from yourself and others. Alcohol related accidents, physical assault, and even death are all things that can occur when someone has too much to drink. Drinking can also be related to suicide. It is a depressant and leaves the individual to not think as clearly as they would if they were not drinking at all. Continue Reading
